Edward William "Win" Bear

Edward William ("…thanks to that son of a bitch A.A. Milne and a world full of funny people I settle for 'Win'") Bear was a lieutenant in the homicide squad of the Denver Police Department, when he fell through the Probability Broach into the North American Confederacy. His counterpart in the Confederacy is Edward William "Ed" Bear.

In his original universe Win is missing and presumed dead due to an explosion caused by the Broach, which also destroyed the physics building at Colorado State University. Otis Bealls, chair of the physics department, and Oscar Burgess, along with numerous assorted other Federal Security Police flunkies, followed Win through as well; all of them are also presumed dead.
